Cedar Cove has always depended on people who care deeply about animals, education, and stewardship. This page keeps the strong role structure from the recovered site while simplifying the intake process.

Volunteer roles

Practical ways to help.

Volunteer roles vary in commitment and training level, but each one supports animal care, visitor education, or the site itself.

Animal Care

Minimum 3 days per month, age 18+. Supports food and medication preparation, enrichment, habitat cleaning, and high-responsibility care routines.

Tour Guide

Minimum 2 days per month. Leads groups safely and communicates knowledge across animal stories, conservation topics, and visitor questions.

Hospitality / Gift Shop

Minimum 1–2 days per month. Supports admissions, gift sales, first-contact guest questions, and general visitor experience.

Gardens / Groundskeeping

Minimum 1–2 days per month, age 16+. Helps with maintenance, plantings, grooming, and the appearance of public grounds.

Facilities Maintenance / Repair

Minimum 1–2 days per month. Assists with structures, pathways, utilities, tools, vehicles, and practical site improvement projects.
